Influencer and Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) season 34 runner-up Alix Earle and NFL wide receiver Braxton Berrios have officially ended their relationship after two years of dating.
Earle confirmed the split this winter, in a TikTok post that put months of fan speculation to rest. “We’re no longer together,” she said, explaining that the couple is “on two different paths right now.”
Rumors of a breakup had been circulating throughout the fall, particularly after fans noticed that Berrios did not attend any of Earle’s live Dancing With the Stars tapings.
Berrios later explained that he would have attended if his schedule allowed, however, his NFL commitments made it difficult.
Earle was quick to shut down any negativity surrounding the breakup, emphasizing that there was zero wrongdoing on any side.
“I don’t want anyone to come for him or be mean to him… it’s not drama, it’s not because he did anything wrong or I did anything wrong,” Earle said during her announcement on Tik Tok.
She did acknowledge that the challenges of a long-distance relationship played a major role in their decision to separate.
Sophomore Tara Langer, a longtime follower of Earle, expressed disappointment. She said, “The recent breakup is horrible and genuinely alters my view of love. Love is dead.”
Berrios is currently in his seventh NFL season and playing for the Houston Texans, maintaining a demanding schedule filled with practices, travel and many games.
This reality, paired with Alix’s extremely busy career, including her time spent in Los Angeles for DWTS rehearsals, ultimately strained their relationship.
Others viewed the situation through a broader cultural lens. They understood how social media amplifies celebrity breakups, making them harder and more public than necessary.
Junior Max Lefkowitz said, “Social media only makes breakups harder because it makes their breakups more public. People should spend less time thinking about celebrity breakups and more time on their own lives.”
He also added that some of these fans actually project their own relationships onto celebrities, living “vicariously through celebrities they like.”
Junior Naomi Allen stated that Alix’s appearance on Dancing With The Stars altered Alix’s level of fame, noting the change from, “influencer status to celebrity status.”
When asked if the relationship was a “right person, wrong time” situation, Allen said, “If Alix was willing to publicly break up with the love of her life, it wasn’t the right person.”
Earle and Berrios kept their relationship private until officially announcing it late 2023.
They shared red carpets and big social media moments, as well as extended periods of separation, especially after Earle moved to Los Angeles part-time for work and DWTS rehearsals.
Although the breakup is recent, Alix has quickly shown fans signs of her moving on from Braxton. She has been sharing plans for 2026 on TikTok, including focusing on her life and career post-DWTS.
