For many people, grabbing breakfast at a coffee shop isn’t out of the norm—it’s become a daily routine. Drinking coffee at Starbucks is by far the best option for many different reasons.
As a chain, Starbucks is located across the globe, making it convenient no matter where you are. If you’re rushing to grab coffee before work, there’s usually a Starbucks nearby.
Priding itself on its already speedy service, Starbucks further expedites the process with drive-throughs and ordering ahead on their app.
Sophomore Tara Langer said, “My local Starbucks usually doesn’t take more than five minutes, even with my extremely complicated drink.”
Meanwhile, Aroma is exclusive to only 190 shops across Israel and a mere 30 branches worldwide. Their lack of presence across the globe limits its accessibility for international customers.
Starbucks is also valued for its reliability, maintaining consistent quality and recipes worldwide. As a result, customers expect the same taste and dependability with every purchase.
A huge factor in the Starbucks ordering experience is the employees. Consistently kind and understanding, even writing encouraging messages, they enhance the general sense of community.
Whether it’s remaking your drink, writing a little note on the cup, or helping you get reward points, the baristas do their best to make your purchase easy and pleasant.
Starbucks is not only committed to exceptional service but also to reducing its environmental footprint.
Some locations only have paper straws, while others allow drinks to be made in cups owned by the customer, like coffee mugs from home. This policy helps reduce single-use waste each year.
While Aroma also supports environmental policies, it cannot achieve a comparably large impact as Starbucks, due to its limited number of stores and accessibility.
Since responsibilities often extend beyond the classroom or workplace, Starbucks offers a productive atmosphere to complete any work.
Sophomore Remy Friedberg said, “I go to Starbucks to study all the time! The environment makes it so much easier to focus on my assignments, and I love being able to eat and drink yummy things while working.”
In an effort to reverse the “grab and go” culture, Starbucks provides many seating options, like barstools, traditional tables, cushioned benches and comfy armchairs, inviting customers to work, socialize or simply unwind.
Just in case you need to charge your phone or laptop, there are outlets next to nearly every seat.
Additionally, Starbucks’ ambience is considerably more pleasant than Aroma’s, sporting aesthetic colors, a modern interior design and likeable music.
Starbucks also offers a unique variety of products, with rotating drink options depending on the season or holiday.
Sophomore Abby Munshine said, “I love the pumpkin chai cold foam for Halloween.”
This cold foam, traditionally meant for chai, can be utilized for other drinks as well, like matcha or lattes.
Any drink can be customized like this, ranging from adding cold foam or syrup to removing fruit inclusions you don’t like.
With its consistency and pleasant environment, Starbucks is clearly the superior coffee shop.
