Disney has officially announced that on Thanksgiving, they will be releasing Mulan: Animated Again exclusively in theaters in Los Angeles and a release on Disney+ the following week.
Mulan: Animated Again is going to be based on the smash success Mulan (2020), a live action rendition of the animated Mulan (1998).
Disney CEO Bob Iger held a meeting with executives and shareholders in order to discuss the details of Mulan: Animated Again.
Iger believes that Mulan: Animated Again is going to be “revolutionary” and “a leap in creativity” for Disney.
“We are going to be bold, destroy all of our roots and what made Disney Disney because we are not just Disney, we are also a corporation and that should be represented in our content,” said Iger in an official statement.
Disney has announced that in order to use 100% ethical labor, they will be using AI to generate the entire movie and that AI “actress” Tilly Norwood will be voice acting for all of the characters.
A reporter inquired, “Wouldn’t it be culturally insensitive to use an AI who is supposed to be a white woman?”
Iger responded, “You know what, that’s what I thought but then I realized that if we used a Chinese AI, we would probably be spied on, so Mulan will be a modern retelling in Dallas, Texas with white AI’s.”
Norwood’s several appearances in the movie will dramatically lower costs of production.
Iger announced that the songs would be coming back for Mulan: Animated Again which made the shareholders excited and hopeful in the project.
However, the artists who will be singing include Taylor Swift and Drake. Taylor Swift and Drake will be singing a duet rendition of “Reflection” and Drake will be releasing an original song in September for Mushu.
Quickly the room turned from energetic to skeptical.
“Drake, isn’t he controversial?” A reporter questioned.
“Probably but so what. So are we,” Iger responded.
People became concerned about what would happen if Mulan: Animated Again flops, to which Iger explained that if the movie flops they will make a live-action version of it.
Alongside the comeback of songs, Mushu who was absent from Mulan (2020) will be returning to Mulan: Animated Again, however, his form will be different.
In order to avoid cultural insensitivity, Mushu will switch from a dragon to a horse.
An executive whispered to Iger, “Bob… I don’t know if you know but, the horse… is a Chinese zodiac sign.”
Iger was startled and said, “You know what, we will do a skunk.”
